Discovering the Davenport Ranges: A Journey through Ampilatwatja and the Binns Track NT
When I was planning this trip I knew I’d have to fuel up along the way, and my target was the Aboriginal community of Ampilatwatja, nearly 500km from Camooweal. Ampilatwatja ( pronounced um blood a-watch ), is a community of around 500 people that welcome visitors to their community to fuel up and shop at the general store.

Downunderlust Canvas, made tough straight from the Kimberley region in WA.
Based in the remote Kimberley region, Downunderlust is a small Australian-owned and operated company that specializes in recycling products into useful bags, pouches and much more. Kimm and Matt source swags, and canvas material offcuts from either online or locally to make their range of products. The choice of products ranges from their general online shop to custom orders that suit your needs. I had Kimm sew me up a large duffel bag plus some smaller bags to use while tour

BOWDEN'S OWN CAR CARE
My 80 series is constantly off-road in some of the harshest conditions that our country can dish up. Quite often I’ll be away in dirty and dusty conditions for weeks at on end. But I find with the right products my 34-year-old Landcruiser 80 comes up a treat time and time again. Now while I’m happy to use self-serve car washes for soak and pre-wash while I’m on the road, I totally refuse to use those scratchy brushes they offer to avoid any more paint damage.

Aberfoyle to Glen Innes . Exploring the highlands and hidden features in NSW.
One of my favourite areas to explore is 90mins west of Coffs Harbour on the NSW north coast which is known for its dramatic gorges, waterfalls & landscapes with granite outcrops. My starting point was the little hamlet of Ebor which is surrounded by world heritage areas, multiple National parks, walking trails and some of the best waterfalls you’ll find.

Exploring Wyperfeld National Park
Wyperfeld is the third largest NP in Victoria broken up into three different management areas to protect its fragile Mallee country, indigenous heritage and European history. Covering a staggering 357,000 hectares it was first reserved in 1909 but declared in 1921 to protect and manage. The Wotjobaluk people have called Wyperfeld home for many generations and there are signs throughout the park where artefacts, middens and burial sites have been found and are now protected.

Unlocking KANGAROO ISLAND ......
By 1852 the light was built and it was a 15-wick oil-burning lamp lighting the way, 1920 it was converted to kerosene and today it's an efficient LED light that shines and is still a crucial navigation aid. There’s a self-guided heritage walking trail around the ground with a dozen different landmarks to explore. Cape Willoughby is often the coldest place in the state and the Sturt Light made of granite and lime mortar is the oldest lighthouse in South Australia where it’s na

From Tom Price to Karijini NP: Exploring the Majestic Landscapes of the Pilbara Region
My journey was along the inland route that started at Nanutarra Roadhouse off the NW coastal highway and headed 350km east towards Tom Price. It’s a beautiful drive across to the huge mining area of Tom Price with spinifex-covered hills and weathered-down mesa plateaus. I wasn’t expecting much at Tom Price but was pleasantly surprised with its tree-lined streets and modern shopping area. Purposely built in the late 1960s by Hammersley Iron as a mining town after huge amounts

WARRAWEENA STATION: A Hidden Gem for Remote Camping, Mine History, and 4WD Adventure
My end goal was still another 30km to the east of Beltana into the remote and isolated Warraweena Station. The station is located where the Flinders and Gammon ranges meet and makes for a stunning drive across barren landscapes and through gorge country. The drive eastward towards Warraweena has long stretches of road passing between ancient rock formations on either side, crossing over rough dry creek beds until you enter the station's boundary.

Uncover the History and Beauty of Sundown National Park: A Remote 4WD Adventure
Just past the fence is the site of the Beecroft Mine where on my last visit you could walk across the steel bridge and look down the shaft. Today it's all fenced off as the shaft erosion at the top is more dangerous than before. There’s an old rock wall here that was part of a shanty hut with a fireplace, as being nearly 1000m above sea level, the winters here are bloody freezing.

THE MOUNT FREELING TRACK. An amazing drive through the Gammon and Flinders Ranges of South Australia. Woolgoolgaoffroad is at Mount Freeling
At the southern end there’s the majestic and stunning amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound and to the north there’s the drier and more isolated areas of Arkaroola as you head past the Gammon Ranges. The largest mountain ranges in South Australia have a complex series of properties that make up the Flinders, that are almost 430km long and has the second highest mountain in the state.

Exploring the Cultural History and Remote Camps of Millstream NP and Pannawonica in Western Australia's Pilbara Region
Pannawonica Hill is a popular spot for locals and it's claimed that the town's name came from here. The word ‘Pannawonica’ means the hill that came from the sea. Local legend says that two tribes were arguing for the rights to the hill when it was beside the ocean, but the sea spirit saw this and dragged the hill where it is today. The path that it was dragged on became the Robe River.

"The Hidden Gems of the Pilbara: Exploring the Stunning Beauty of Western Australia's Vast Region".
This place is regarded as the oldest place on earth with rich deep red rock formations where the rock is so old that there are no fossil remains left in the rock. Welcome to the epic Pilbara region. It’s thought that the name Pilbara is an Aboriginal name for a Mullet that’s found in a creek off the Yule River.
